There was excitement in the air on a beautiful Friday afternoon as Transition Ely joined with the children of a local school to plant 8 fruit trees.  This is the first step in the project which will see the eco-students creating an orchard and vegetable garden which will not only provide them with lovely fresh produce in season but will be fertile ground (pun intended!) for learning and encouraging growing at home.

The enthusiasm of the children to get started and get their hands dirty was something to lift spirits and left smiles on our faces for a long time afterwards.   Good job!

Coming soon!!  Watch this space for pictures of the event.
