Bicycle Maintenance Workshop

What to do when something goes wrong with your bicycle!?!  Here’s a chance to find out how to deal with some of those problems yourself.

There will be a bicycle maintenance workshop on Friday 11 June at the Forum on Barton Road starting at 6:30 PM and running for approximately 2 hours.  It will consist of a talk, questions and answers and hands-on practice.  We are only asking for a ‘gold coin’ donation to help with the hire of the venue.

Inspiring Permaculture Course in Cottenham

Hi there, just back from the Introduction to Permaculture Design weekend at The Cambridge Sustainability Centre at Fen End Organic Farm, Cottenham - http://www.flickr.com/photos/50060221@N07/for pictures and www.cambridgesustainability.co.uk for more info. A really welcoming, fun, and inspiring weekend – in the blossoming apple orchard, in yurts, round the campfire and on the farm.  Camping brought us closer into contact with nature – and a few rainshowers and then beautiful sunshine on sunday.

Graham Burnett from Spiralseed www.spiralseed.co.uk taught the course, we hope to be able to bring him back for a full Permaculture Design course, and a Forest Gardening course at a later date. A great combination of information, observation and practical work gave an inspiring taste of all that Permaculture design www.permaculture.org.uk has to offer. Delicious vegetarian and vegan food was beautifully prepared by the team in the farmhouse kitchen including fresh bread made with organic wheat grown on the farm!

Thanks to all involved and looking forward to further courses to include yurt making, clay ovens and more.
